I he heroic service of the men and women of the United States
Armed Forces often comes to mind during conversations about our

country’s safety, security, and involvement in foreign wars. But what doesn’t

come to mind so easily are the children who stay behind when those men and

women—those mothers and fathers—leave for training and active duty, often

for many months or years at a time.

The United Service Organization (USO) is dedicated to keeping the
